Phil Ivey has been branded as the number one poker player on the globe by quite a few of the top professionals. Phil Ivey was born in Riverside, CA and moved to NJ before reaching the age of one. His papa taught him penny-ante Five-Card Stud poker. From that point on, Phil was addicted to poker and wanted to discover whatever he could about poker. Phil routinely told his parents that he was planning on being a professional poker player. Phil didn’t permit the adverse feedback from others annihilate his dream of becoming one of the best poker players on the planet.
Phil started competing intently after acquiring a false ID with the name of Jerome. He practiced his abilities at the casinos in Atlantic City. The initial number of years for Phil were a teaching experience and winning wasn’t a common outcome at the time. Phil made his mark at the 2000 World Series of Poker where he made two final tables and won his first World Series of Poker bracelet, in a two dollar, five hundred Pot-Limit Omaha event. At the closing table he defeated quite a few of the better known pros including but not limited to "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.
He made a decision to take his game to the next level and headed out west to Las Vegas. He continues to compete in in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the best players in the world. Phil credits his success to discipline and an undying passion for poker. Phil states that he is picking up skills every day and is incredibly abashed about his achievements. Phil admits to making mistakes every single session of poker and always aspires to get better.
Despite the fact that Phil has come first in some big-time tournaments, he likes destroying money games on a regular basis.
